Nothing quite beats creating a landscape designed to complement an Art Deco house in the heart of Floreat.
With no area to call a “backyard”, the front of the house was where the dream had to come to life. An area to play cricket, a space to entertain and all in all, somewhere that embraced the feeling of calm.
The site was cleared and construction began with the hardscapes. Organic bluestone steppers were set in place to give a meandering feel as the entry from the road encouraged exploration. Steel edging was then put in place to give the clean and modern isolation between garden and lawn.
A mixture of native and exotic planting gave a real sense of freshness to a building with already so much character. Maintaining the large existing trees, non fruiting olive trees were selected to bring a great colour and shape to the area. Pittosporum ‘Miss Muffet” and Leucophyta brownii “Silver Nugget” coupled to bring the garden bed a structure and colour palette like no other.
A fully automated reticulation system was installed, waterwise products such as drip line and MP rotator lawn sprinklers were used as they provide direct watering at a lower water usage.
